How Many Funnels Can I Have In ClickFunnels? (Plan Limits)

Funnel limits are a part of any service, but they can become troublesome after a while. For this reason, it is best to know upfront what is possible and what isn’t before investing in ClickFunnels. One crucial area to consider is the number of funnels you can create.

You can technically have as many funnels as you want in ClickFunnels. However, ClickFunnels imposes a limit on how many funnels you create depending on the plan you buy. If you buy the basic plan, you are limited to 20 funnels. The platinum plan allows you to create an unlimited number of funnels.

You should know the limits in ClickFunnels before you commit to a plan. In this post, we’ll discuss the number of funnels you can create in the respective ClickFunnels plans, as well as some ways to maximize the plan you do have.

ClickFunnels Basic Plan

The basic plan allows you to create a maximum of 20 funnels with a total of 100 pages per account. It also allows you to add three payment gateways to your funnels to make the selling of products easier.

In addition to the pages and payment gateways, you will be allowed to have a maximum of 20,000 unique visitors to your funnels.

Now, whether the 20 funnels you can create in the basic plan are sufficient or not depends on your business needs and your level of experience.

This limit is okay for small businesses that do not have many products or a large budget for marketing. Similarly, it is perfect for beginners who are still learning to use funnels.

However, the fact that the 20 funnel limit is suitable for beginners and businesses with limited finances doesn’t automatically mean that large brands can’t use it.

The basic plan is also great for huge businesses dealing in seasonal products or services.

That said, established businesses may need more funnels than the basic plan can provide. As a result, they will hit the funnel limit at some point.

The good news is that you can hit the limit and still create new funnels. 20 is still the maximum, but you can archive or delete old funnels to give yourself wiggle room.

You can only do this if you free up space on your account, though.

ClickFunnels Basic Plan

How to Free up Space When You Have Hit the Funnel Limit?

You can create new funnels beyond the original plan limits by removing funnels or funnel steps that you no longer need. Here are steps to help you clear up space and create new funnels in your basic account.

Step 1: Archive Unused Funnels to Lower Funnel Count

You can move dormant funnels to the archive section to free up space. The best part about archiving is that you can do it with as many funnels as you wish.

Moreover, you can later retrieve those funnels and use them again.

  1. From your ClickFunnels dashboard, access the funnel you wish to archive.
  2. From the top navigation menu on your funnel, click on the ‘Settings’ button at the far right.
  3. Scroll down to the end of the settings page and click on the ‘Archive Funnel’ button on the bottom left.
  4. The funnel archiving process will start. You may go ahead and archive more funnels as desired.
  5. Once the archiving process is complete, your funnel count will drop accordingly.

Note: Your changes will take up to 30 minutes to update and become visible on your dashboard. If the changes do not appear after this time, log out and in again to refresh the server’s connection.

Step 2: Reduce Your Page Count by Deleting Pages

Deleting some of your funnel pages will also free up more space to create new pages for the new funnels you intend to create.

  1. From inside your funnel, locate the page or pages to be deleted.
  2. Open the page, then click on the delete funnel step button at the bottom right side of the funnel.
  3. Click OK on the next pop-up window.

Step 3: Delete Pages Built Inside Other Funnel Steps

Other funnel steps may also have pages eating up your space. You may delete these too if you no longer use them.

  1. From inside the funnel you wish to modify, scroll to other funnel steps at the bottom.
  2. Click on ‘Select Step to View Arrow’ to expand the menu. Choose the step you would like to delete.
  3. Delete the step by clicking on the delete funnel step button.

You need to remember that any pages under the other funnel steps section that have templates assigned to them take you closer to your funnel limit.

It is, therefore, a good idea to skip assigning templates to pages that you do not use to avoid limitations.

How to Free up Space When You Have Hit the Funnel Limit

How Will Funnel Limitations in ClickFunnels Impact My Business?

The limited number of funnels you can create in ClickFunnels could be problematic if your business requires more.

If you consistently find yourself needing more than 20 funnels, here are some of the effects you may experience.

First, insufficient funnels will cause poor audience targeting. When you have several products on the front end, you will need different funnels for each product.

Since you are limited, your funnels may prove insufficient for the task of segmenting your audience.

As a result, you have to target general traffic (including non-converting people). This broad approach will lead to a lower conversion rate.

Another effect of funnel limitation is the reduction in the number of upsells you can create. You’ll lose the opportunity to increase your per-order value.

When you are limited to 20 funnels, you may find it challenging to create substantial upsells.

ClickFunnels Platinum Plan

When it comes to the Platinum subscription plan of ClickFunnels, there is no limit to how many funnels you can create.

Similarly, the number of pages you can make in these funnels is unlimited.

You are also entitled to unlimited follow-up funnels to help you stay in touch with your customers even after they leave your funnel.

The limitless creation of funnels is perfect for marketing agencies, large businesses, and experienced digital marketing experts.

Although you have the freedom to create countless funnels, mindlessly creating funnels can be counterproductive.

You may find yourself dealing with funnels you don’t need and will waste time, money, and other resources creating them.

Just because the Platinum Plan enables you to create unlimited funnels, this doesn’t make it a good strategy. Let’s take a quick look at how unnecessary funnels can actually harm your marketing efforts.

Reasons to Avoid Unnecessary Funnels

1. Neglected Follow-Ups

Following up with your existing customers is an essential step for every business. This is because keeping in touch helps retain the customers.

Plus, acquiring new customers is more expensive than retaining existing ones. It’s easier to maintain loyalty than to build it from scratch.

When you have too many funnels, engaging existing customers can be difficult to accomplish. You’ll be spread thin between so many funnels.

As such, the customer journey will usually end once they make a purchase. Consequently, you risk losing your current customers to competitors who can prioritize them.

2. Increased Costs

The more funnels you have, the more money you will need to run them. To start with, paying for the ClickFunnels Platinum Plan is almost three times the cost of the Basic Plan.

If you create funnels that you cannot manage, they will not convert as required. Therefore, you risk running losses since your earlier investment doesn’t profit as it should.

Besides the software costs, you incur other expenses such as generating traffic and paying for more salespeople.

To get an estimate of full extent of costs involved, see my article, ‘How Much Does a Sales Funnel Cost?‘.

You also need to fill the funnels with content. This isn’t free, so the cost will exponentially increase as you create more funnels.

3. Extra Integrations

From email autoresponders to payment gateways, you need integrations to build converting funnels in ClickFunnels.

The more funnels you build, the more integrations you will need. Adding more integrations may be disruptive to the existing ones.

Such disruptions can lead to website crashes and a subsequent reduction in revenue. Aside from the lost revenue, you may also face frustrations due to lots of time spent troubleshooting.

Customers also won’t like visiting your website if it’s constantly crashing or under maintenance.

4. Lack of Personalization

Creating a bulk amount of funnels can lead to a sacrifice of quality. Your funnels will lack a personal touch if you just crank them out as fast as possible.

As a result, you will provide generic websites that do not resonate with customers’ pain points. Modern customers have many choices and hence want marketers that can meet their specific needs.

Handling more funnels than necessary is bound to lead to generic marketing content.

Subsequently, leads joining these funnels will feel uncared for and may fall off the funnel in search of a more attentive brand.

Reasons to Avoid Unnecessary Funnels

Choosing an Optimal Number of Funnels

As we’ve established, creating more funnels than you need does more harm than good. So knowing the number of funnels you actually need to build is in your best interest.

This section will give a step-by-step guide to help you build the appropriate number of funnels for your business.

1. Know the Number of Your Traffic Sources

The number of funnels you need to create is largely dependent on how many sources you use to generate traffic.

Some of the most commonly used traffic sources include social media platforms and search engines. It’s worth mentioning that you don’t necessarily need to build a funnel for every single traffic source.

This is because some sources may not bring in enough substantial traffic to act as a worthwhile investment.

Therefore, only pick your strongest sources and prioritize them as you work on improving the weaker ones.

2. Set Goals for Each Funnel

Even if you create an excellent funnel, it will be useless if you don’t have a sales goal you want to achieve.

Setting goals helps you to stay on course and also avoid unnecessary funnels. Once you identify your goals, record them somewhere.

Take time to carefully pair each goal with a traffic source. By now, you should have some traffic sources to accompany each goal.

3. Count Your Lead Magnets and Landing Pages

Each funnel needs a lead magnet and a landing page. How many lead magnets do you wish to offer?

Answering that will help you get your audience to take specific actions. You will also identify if you have any leads without a specific call to action to take.

With the number of lead magnets in mind, you will know the number of funnels needed for your process.

4. Determine How Funnels Will Help You Achieve Your Goals

Finally, to avoid any unnecessary funnels, identify how each one you create will help you reach your sales goals.

To achieve most goals, you need to drive your audience to take a specific action. This means you need to craft a persuasive and clear call to action.

Furthermore, each call to action needs its landing page before it can take effect. And for every landing page, you need a lead magnet.

Finally, after offering lead magnets, you need to nurture the leads and introduce them to your premium product that you need them to buy.

At this point, you will have a clear map of how to create funnels to achieve your end goals. This will help you keep everything close and avoid going off track.

Choosing an Optimal Number of Funnels

How Many Funnels Should I Expect to Have?

After defining your goals and coming up with an estimated number of funnels, you may still worry if it is the correct number. Well, the thing with funnels is that there is no one-size-fits-all answer for everyone.

Many different factors come into play, meaning that even people with similar businesses will have wildly different numbers of funnels. Here is a rough estimate of how many funnels you should come up with.

To begin with, the number of funnels you can create depends on your level of experience. If you are just starting, expect to work with just a single funnel.

Put all your energy into it and learn from it. This will give you room to perfect your skill and get a clearer understanding of how to create high-converting funnels.

At the same time, the budget is usually a consideration. And since creating more funnels increases costs, it is wise to keep the funnel numbers lower rather than higher.

After getting experience, you can increase your funnels up to five. On the other hand, if you are a funnel expert with several products to sell, you can create as many funnels as necessary.

Some businesses find that they need 50 or more. This is because, at that point, the business is well established and can cover the funnel operating costs.

Acquire the Plan You Need According to Your Level of Experience and the Size of Your Customer Base…

When it comes to ClickFunnels, you’ll want to start small and work upward. If you’re a beginner, stick to one funnel until you feel comfortable enough to branch out.

As your funnels hit their limit when it comes to conversions, you may be prompted to start a new one.

The Basic ClickFunnels subscription plan allows you to create up to 20 funnels, whereas the Platinum Plan gives you the freedom to make unlimited funnels.

Even then, ClickFunnels can be an expensive tool for some, I mention other great alternatives in my article, ‘ClickFunnels Alternatives‘, check it out to find what suits your preferences.

Don’t create funnels just for the sake of it. Instead, make sure each one has a clear goal, is well-crafted, and is full of great content.
